Part 3: setting up your site.

How to Create a Website From Scratch!

Once you’ve got your niche picked it’s time to set up a site.

Don’t worry, the method I’m going to show you is surprisingly easy to do. I’m going to prove to you that setting up a website doesn’t have to be complicated, or expensive. In fact, i’m going to show you how you can set up a fully functioning great looking website in under 10 minutes, by using a very popular content management system called “WordPress.”

Haven’t chosen a niche already?

Part two of the Crash Course Training will teach you exactly how to find one.

To set up a website with WordPress you will need two things.

The first thing you will need is a domain name, this is just the webadres that people will go to, to find your site. For example, google’s domain name is “google.com” and yours can be “whatyouwant.com”

You can pick up domain names for less than 10 € per year so they are really cheap.

The second thing you will need is a web hosting account, this will give you a place to store your website so it’s accessible to people on the internet.

Hosting your website will cost you around 12.95 € per month, but by using my Affiliate link I can give you a discount of 40% so you can get your hosting for just 7.95 € per month.

Both of these are extremely easy to get, so, here is how you do it.

Getting your domain name.

The first thing that you want to do is to register your domain. To do this simply head over to Namecheap.com

Namecheap is where I like to get all of my domains from, they are also very cheap and reliable. Once you are on the namecheap website, just enter the domain name you want into the search box and click search. For example, if you would like to set up a website about funny television shows and you want to call your site “funny tv channel.” then you would just simply type in, “funnytvchannel” and then click the search button.

Next it will tell you if the domain name you are after is available or if somebody else has already registered it, it will also tell you the availability of the different types of domains. Including .com, .net, .org, .info, and all the other available variations. So if the .com version of the domain you are looking for is already taken, chances are that you might be able to get the .net or .org version instead. Once you found an available domain name you want to use, just hit the add to cart button, followed by checkout button.

Now you will be asked to make a namecheap account by choosing a username and password. then, once you have done that, you will be asked to enter a few contact details, after that you will be taken to a page with the title “domain options.” Now, on this page there are a few different options that you can choose between but for now  you really don’t need to do anything to those so just click the next step button to continue.

Finally, you will need to choose a payment method. You can either pay with your credit card or with a paypal account. Once your payment has been processed you officially own that domain name. So congratulations on that!

Setting up a hosting account.

The next thing you want to do is getting yourself a hosting account.

Now, there are a few hosting services out there, but none of them are really quite as good, or can compare with a company called Siteground.com. These guys are really cheap and offer great support and I never actually had a single problem with them, ever. And, I have been using Siteground to host my all sites.

So, what you want to do is head over to Siteground.com, there you will see a few different plans on offer but I highly recommend choosing the GrowBig plan in the middle. It only cost around 8 € per month and it allows you to host as many websites on the one account as you want, so even if you wind up setting up ten different websites, you still would be paying only 8 € per month.

Once you click the “get started button,” you will be taken to the next page where you it will ask you to enter your domain name, make sure that the “I already have a domain” box is checked , then, enter your domain you have just registered on Namecheap.com. For my example I would first type in “funnytvchannel” and then select what type of domain I want, .com .net or any other available version. in my example I would enter “funnytvchannel.com” and hit the proceed button.

Next, you will be asked to enter your, account information, contact information and your payment information, here you can either pay with Visa or Mastercard.

Then, in the purchase information you will be able to choose the period of months you want to start with to host your website. To avoid paying an extra 20 € setup cost, I  suggest that you choose a minimum of 12 months of hosting.

Once your payment is completed, you now have everything you need to set your website up.

How to link your domain name, to your hosting account?

What you need to do next, is go over to Namecheap.com, login to your Namecheap account and head over to the domain section which is located at the top. Then, you want to click the “manage domains” link.

You will then be taken to a page with a list of your domains, so just click the one that you have just registered.

Then, in the menu on the left hand side, you want to click the link that says, ” transfer DNS to webhost.” You will then see a few text boxes where you can enter workload name services, basically these just tell namecheap where your site is located. Now, this might look a little bit confusing the first time you see it, but it’s actually quite simple.

To get your name services, just enter a new tab and check your email inbox, for the email that Siteground will have send you, after creating an account with them. In that Email you will find a line that says “first name server” followed by a address, and then another line below it that says “second name server” followed with another address.

Now, what you want to do, is just copy the “first name server address. Then go back to your Namecheap tab and paste it into the text box #1, you also want copy the “second name server address,” and paste that one into the text box #2.

Now just hit save changes, and your domain name and hosting account will be linked.

Setting up your site in WordPress.

In the way that i’m going to show you on how to set up your website, is with a system called “WordPress,” WordPress is a content management software that allows you to easily create and manage your website. Its extremely flexible and can be turned into almost any kind of website that you want.

To set up your site, just go back to the email that you got from Siteground, and look for the line that says “your control panel” and click the link next to it.

You then will be asked to enter your hosting username and password which you also can find in the same email.

Once you are logged in to your control panel, you will see a ton of different features, but the one you need is “the little smiley face” that’s labelled “Fantastico deluxe” Fantastico is that comes with Siteground that allows you to quickly and easily install all kinds of different software, including WordPress, in just one, or two clicks.

Once you are in the Fantastico section, click the WordPress option in the left hand menu. Then, click the “new installation” button. You will then see a few text boxes for you to fill out, leave the first box blank, and enter a username and a password in the next two boxes. Then, in the last few boxes, enter a nickname and email address, your website name and a website description.

When you are done click the “instal WordPress” button, and next the “finish installation” button.

Now your website is ready to rock and roll.

On the conformation page you will see a link to your admin area, along with the username and password that you have just created. “Make Sure that you safe this info, or write it down somewhere.”

Changing the look and feel of your website.

How to change the look of your website?

Now, when you type in your domain name in a new tab, you should see your brand new WordPress site appear.

Obviously the website looks still a little blank, but when you head over to your website’s admin area, it should be located at “yourdomainname.com/wp-admin” where you can login with the user name and password you have just created and you will be able to acces your website’s administration backoffice. From there, you will be able to perform all the magic to your site, like, customising the look and feel of your website, as well as adding new content to it.

For example, to change the look of your website, just look for the appearance tab in the left side menu and click the “themes button.” Then, click the “install themes” option at the top and from there you will be able to search through literally thousands of different themes that you can instantly apply to your website. Once, you found the theme that you would like to use for your website, just hit the “install button” and finally you want to click the “activate button.” Now, your new theme will be applied and if you check or refresh your website, you should be able to see it.

You can also find thousands of other cool themes for your WordPress site by just doing a google search for themes.

How to add content to your website?

To add content to your website, just head over to the “post” section and click the “add new” button. Here you can write the title and some text for your first post, you can even add some images if your want to “with this button,” Once, you are done, just click the publish button.

Obviously, there are a ton of other different cool features in the admin area, waiting for you to be explored. For that I strongly suggest that you use My #1 Recommendation offer. The first ten lessons are free so make sure to check it out. You can also choose to learn by yourself, by checking out all the different features, and playing around to see what you can do with each one of them.

So here you have it, how you can set up a website in under ten minutes. Now, if it’s the first time that you do this it might take a little longer, but once you understand the progress you will see just how quick and easy this stuff really is.
